Supernatural S12, E03 and E03
Oh thank God! Sam was rescued at last. It was painful to watch that British chippy inflict horrendous physical and psychological pain on him. Dean and Castiel spectacularly failed to rise to the occasion though. Somehow I knew that mommy dearest would be the one to rescue Sammy. Way to go mom!
More cheer for women is in order, of course. Dear old Rowena did manage to dispatch Lucifer to God knows where. The vessel he was using had totally creeped me out. The guy looked like a horrible mishmash of Liz Hurley, Michael Jackson and the late Hindi movie actor Feroz Khan. Crowley and Castiel managed to reach the crime scene with same punctuality as shown by the Indian police force in countless Hindi movies.
I don't totally get what's going on with Dean and Sam's mom though. Sure, I understand that it would be a tough thing to get back to life after being dead for more than three decades. Where do you even begin to catch up? Plus your own kids are practically strangers to you. But running away is not an option and certainly not for any Winchester. Wonder why she chose that, especially given the fact that she narrowly escaped death twice. You would think someone returning from the Dead would value her life more. I must confess that when she said she isn't sure about being here (or something to that effect!), for a moment, I felt as if she is thinking of ending her life.
But in a way I am glad she is not around for the time being. I was beginning to fear that if she stuck around much longer, something might start brewing between her and Castiel. I am not too sure if angels can fall in love but who knows. :-)
It was cute to see Sam being very understanding about his mom's decision to be away for some time. His EQ is certainly a couple of notches higher than that of Dean.
Wonder if the writers have run out of ideas when it comes to the cases. The vengeful spirit and frozen hearts seems to have been covered in countless horror movies already. Hit the net guys. I am sure there are plenty of other ghosts, ghouls and other assorted creepies, just waiting in the wings to be discovered.

Elementary, Season 5
I had no idea Season 5 was upon us. I was watching an episode of Supernatural when I caught sight of the ads. Honestly though, I am not too impressed with the first two episodes and I won't bother with season 6 if Holmes continues to solve domestic cases. Can someone please drag him to MI6 so we can watch him apply his powers to solving cases of international intrigue?
Grey's Anatomy, Season 12 Finale
I missed the 23rd episode, thanks to the absolute inefficiency of the cable service provider. But the universe conspired to give me a chance to watch the repeat telecast of the Season Finale. And it was as tiring as the rest of this season. Very heavy on emotions, as the rest of this season.
There is something which I have been simply unable to fathom. How can two people who are in love with each other be so absolutely terrified of getting married? What is this commitment phobia that seems to be gripping more than one characters from this show? Amelia has it in droves. This is one character which has single-handedly been responsible for much of my headache as I watched this season. The woman is impossibly unstable. I would have called her scatter-brained, if it were not for her impeccable skills as a neuro-surgeon. But honestly, if I were her patient and been a witness to her indecisiveness in personal matters, I would absolutely forbid her from operating on any part of my body, let alone an important organ like brain. I feel sorry for Hunt. He deserves better. I will be very surprised if this marriage lasts till the end of the next season.
Jo is another one who seems incapable of making a decision when it comes to marriage. At least her reason for doing so was revealed in the last few moments of the finale. But I am not convinced. She can very well tell Alex about her past and I doubt if he will insist on her getting a divorce from her first husband, especially if it might result in putting her in danger. Sure, their marriage will be null and void if her first husband resurfaces but in the society where living together without getting married is not frowned upon, it certainly won't be an end of the world scenario. Then why complicate matters?
I am glad that April and her baby are fine. Also glad that Bailey and her husband seem to have worked things out between them. I am not sorry to see Torres leave. Arizona can now move on with her life.
As far as Meredith goes, I feel sory for Dr. Riggs. Here is one more indecisive, impulsive and more-than-slightly unbalanced lady.
All in all, I am glad and relieved that this roller-coaster season of emotions has finally come to an end. Hope the next season will focus more on medical aspects than the human side of things. Well, we will see next September, won't we?

Supernatural, S12, E01
It's been quite a while since the last season ended so it took me some time to come to grips with the goingson in this one. e.g. I wondered for a moment why Castiel dropped out of the sky to land in front of some poor chap's car, only to ask him how far Lebanon, Kansas was. Then I realized that the British lady had blasted him out of the bunker when she kidnapped Sam. Then I wasn't sure what Crowley kept appearing next to bodies with burnt-out eyes. I wasn't rewarded with the answer immediately. But then someone mentioned Lucifer and I remembered that we hadn't seen him in last season after God's sister had blasted him as he tried to kill her. Shoot! He is back? That's not good news for the Winchesters.
The billion dollar question is - is Castiel in full possession of his Angel powers? He seemed to have no trouble in disarming the driver before taking his car and yet, when it came to the British female version of Rambo he was thrown around like a rag doll. I knew it would fall to Dean's mom to kill her and jumped with joy when she did. But it was painful to watch the other one torturing Sam. Would Her Majesty approve of such tactics? I hope these guys rescue Sam in the next episode and blast the British chippy (as Rachel from Friends would call her!) back to London.
And speaking of London, it was hugely entertaining to hear that the Men of Letters have warded the whole place down to secure it against the supernatural creatures. I wonder if the protections would hold if Lucifer decides to pay a visit to look at the Queen. :-)

As the 12th season of Grey's Anatomy moves towards its Finale, I feel sad and relieved at the same time. Sad, because I won't be seeing many of my favorite characters for another year. And relieved, because I will finally be free of all the emotional drama and chaos that this season consisted of. Some of the characters I have come to love over the years have behaved in a very strange fashion. e.g. Miranda Bailey. Her behavior on the first days she joined as the new Chief Of Surgery did not make sense to me at all. The Bailey I knew was confident but never arrogant. The other such character was of Ethan Hunt. I looked upon him as someone level-headed, cool and capable of thinking rationally. And yet, he not only refused to talk about his problems but lost his cool to the point of behaving unprofessionally. It is true, what the character of Martin Henderson says - family messes you up.
The women of the show were a total disappointment. I have already mentioned Bailey. I never cared much for Meredith - always thought of her as being erratic, emotionally unstable and completely disorganized as far as relations go. Probably her character was meant to be like that - given the kind of upbringing she has had. In this season, her emotional roller-coaster ride was too much for me. Thank God Derek is dead. He would have gone insane. :-) Amelia is even more chaos on the emotional side than Meredith - personally, I wouldn't have thought it was possible for anyway to be so. April seems to be overreacting to everything. Jo was mean, stubborn and a pain throughout the season, though she has mellowed down a bit lately. Edwards talked too much, so did Maggie. Jackson's mom is a bitch, to put it plainly. And I don't want to comment on the whole Penny-Arizona-Callie drama because, frankly, I don't understand it.
The only two people who stand head and shoulders above the rest are Webber and Karev. Weber has slipped into the role of everyone's favorite uncle - you shout at him when you are down but he is the one everyone pours their hearts out to. And he always gives you a wise advice, whether you like it or not. He has done it for Jackson, for Arizona and for Bailey. I just wish he hadn't made the mistake of marrying Katherine Avery. The woman is more trouble than worth it. :-( And Karev is a friend to wish for if you ever see a falling star.
There were no interesting cases, complicated procedures or brilliant diagnoses in this season. I am getting tired of all the emotions, disagreements, tantrums and conflicts. I hope the focus shifts more to the medical aspect of the show in the next season.
