Finally, some food for thought for the weekend!
2 rules to follow for a peaceful life:
Failure should never go to heart
Success should never go to head
Have a good weekend, folks!

एका कृषी साधकाची आगळी श्री गणेश पूजा !
If you are one of those who like to grow vegetables and fruits and can understand Marathi (or can find someone who does), read on - एका कृषी साधकाची आगळी श्री गणेश पूजा !
Food Food Channel
I discovered it by accident while surfing the channels 2 days back and have been addicted to it ever since. The first Indian TV channel dedicated solely to food! Wow!
I have watched 2 episodes of "Sanjeev Kapoor's Kitchen" (this channel is his brainchild, by the way) And Rakesh Sethi's "Chai Nashta". Loved both of them.
I have watched single episode of "Khata Rahe Mera Dil" so far. This one took the viewers on a tour of eating joints in Kolkata - right from Momos and Kheema-stuffed Parathas to the famous Bengali dessert - Sondesh. Simply Yum!
I didn't like "Turban Tadka" though. The chef kept on saying "Bhai" at the end of every sentence - as if to emphasize his Punjabi roots . Not that it wasn't apparent from the turban he was wearing! I got bored and changed channel halfway through the program. I am not likely to watch it again. Similarly, the program "Ready Steady Cook" hosted by Roshni Chopra was high on hype and low on content. I am not going to be one of its repeat viewers.
I hope they launch a website soon. I would really love to see a comprehensive listing of places to eat - especially small road-side eateries - across the whole width and breadth of the country. That will help me plan out the culinary journey that I am hoping to make across India one day.
Till then, I am more than happy to watch this true-blue desi foodie channel :-)

26/11 hero’s uncle sets self on fire near Parliament. Do we Indians have to go down the road that the Egyptians are taking? I hope not. It's been 60+ years for God's sake and we still don't have our house in order. I hope the government wakes up and smells coffee before it finds the common man out on the streets one fine morning.

किताबें झाँकती हैं / गुलज़ार
I am a huge fan of GulzarJi. Came across this gem just now. Wonder how GulzarJi knew about what's been happening with me and my books lately :-(
Check this out - Let's celebrate a circus called India. You bet, I am going to be looking at the sign-boards more closely in the coming days. :-)
"You must have been an Egyptian in one of your past lives" over the years my family must have said this a million times in exasperation as they have watched me tune into programs about anything and everything in Egypt. I agree - simply because I can find no logical explanation for my fascination for this land of the Pharaohs.
One of my new year resolutions was to take a long-dreamed about vacation there this year. But, for now at least, it seems next to impossible. I just hope and pray that peace returns soon to this nation without any loss of human life or damage to the ancient monuments. :-(

India Against Corruption
I didn't get a chance to check my B School Alumni mail last week. So I came to know about http://www.indiaagainstcorruption.org/ while sorting through those mails today morning. I haven't checked it out yet but I don't trust my memory these days and so decided to post the link here before it got swept clean by Monday morning work :-)
