लाखोकी सुना तुमने तक़दीर सवारी है
मुझसे यही कह देते अबके तेरी बारी है

Good Night and Have a Nice Weekend, folks! :-)
I am not sure if I should invest time and money in M. Night Shyamalan's latest movie. I had been sorely disappointed with "The Village" and hadn't bothered with "The Happening" and "The Lady in the Water".

imdb.com shows a score of 4.4 (out of 10) for his latest so I guess it won't hurt to give this one a miss too.
I think it has been ages since I got a new book from the library. I have been reading the same one - Robert Ludlum's The Sigma Protocol - since at least last month. But I am determined to finish it off this weekend. :-(

Guess I should go for slimmer volumes from now on.

दो ही लफ्जोका था ये अफ़साना, जो सुना कर खामोश हो बैठा
इब्तदा ये है के तुम को पाया था,इन्तहा ये है के खुद को खो बैठा

Have a great week ahead, folks!
Anyone tuning in to any news channel over the weekend would have thought there is nothing more important going on in the world than MS Dhoni's engagement and marriage. I flipped through channel after channel, looking for important national and international news. But no luck! Exasperated, I finally switched to Marathi news channels and was relieved to find that this was no breaking news for them.

Why, oh why, do we need a round-the-clock coverage of celebrity events?
It's been years since I watched any Hindi movie in the theatres. But over the weekend, one of the channels was playing "Badmash Company". I watched it for a couple of minutes and got hooked. Kind of liked it too. And that's saying a lot - given my aversion for Bollywood movies and their plots. I hope this one was an original and not a copy of some Hollywood flick.

I was amused though at the way Shahid Kapoor turns to honest jobs towards the end of the movie. Guess that's an Indian twist. In Hollywood, guys/gals walk away happily with the stolen money/diamonds/gold in the sunset :-)
Have you heard of RSBY? No? How about "Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana"? Maybe. I was amazed to read an article about the same recently. And if that is any indication, this time the effort seems to be paying off - for a change.

Dam it Pakistan!

I don't know about you but I am getting tired of all the whining that is coming from across the border. This time it is about the Bhasha Dam. Accusing India of something or other seems to be the only way they can get any attention at the international level - apart from their terrorists, of course.

Don't these guys have anything better to do than that? I think our leaders should stop asking them to mend their ways. It's a waste of time and energy!
Can anyone please tell me why these facewash companies print product price on a narrow strip that they call "The Crimp"? (that space should be called 'The Cramped'). Over the weekend, I was standing in an isle, trying to figure out which facewash should I buy - my usual one or a new one that looked better? Of course, price was a consideration. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a facewash that may or may not make my skin clean and radiant. But no, I could not, for the life of me, figure out the new product's price. :-(

Finally, in frustration, I bought the new one anyway. Predictably, I forgot to check its price at the checkout counter. It's a pain to check up all items on reaching home so I have taken to checking the total number of items received vs total number of items paid for. If they tally, I am happy. The receipt went to the dustbin.

So these days, when I wash my face in the mornings, I sometimes remember this and try to fathom out the price. No such luck yet :-( Guess by the time I figure it out, I would get used to the product. Wonder if that was the marketing trick all along!
