Seems that GMail was out of service for some time, not that I noticed. I must not be falling into the 0.02% of people who Google claims were the only ones affected by the outage.
Anyways, I was amused by the usage of words "Unexpected Bug" in Google's statement. If you have done your testing thoroughly and without taking any shortcuts, then any bug would be unexpected, isn't it? Only hastily patched code would have bugs that are "expected" :-)
