So Rahul Gandhi is ashamed of being an Indian! Well, Mr. Gandhi, take comfort in the fact that you are only 50% Indian. Imagine the plight of people like me who are 100% Indian. And you know why we are ashamed of being Indians? Because of politicians like you who are more interested in attention-seeking-gimmicks than in solving people's problems! You and your kind have made India the laughing stock of the world :-(

Source Code (! SPOILER ALERT !)

What do you mean by "Source Code"? Any developer worth his or her salt will tell you that it is text written in some kind of programming language to build any software. Therefore it sounds rather weird to call the software program itself as "Source Code". Imagine one developer saying to another "Let's review the source code for Source Code". I know,I know, it's difficult to imagine developers talking about "code review". But you get my point, don't you? And though I think Jake Gyllenhall looked rather cute as Dastan in Prince of Persia (about the only movie in which he has managed to do so, in my humble opinion!), I had difficulty picturing him as the Army Helicopter pilot type.

That said, I liked the movie. But what will remain forever etched in my memory are the happy faces of people of different religions and races on that Chicago-bound commuter train as they laugh at the stand-up comedian's jokes. Can someone please make sure all the terrorists in the world watch this movie? :-(

Yesterday evening I was jotting down the latest book that I finished reading in the record that I have been keeping since 2006 - the year I joined the library. I now stand at 196. So only 4 more books to go. I had started sometime in June in 2006. So that will be 200 books in 5 years. Not bad at all! :-)

Food for thought:

It was hard to get flowers for my daily puja last week as the lady who sells them in the market didn't turn up for most part of the week. Even when I ran out of flowers, I still waited for her to be there the next day - with the result that I had to leave for office without my customary offering of flowers at home. But she was nowhere to be seen. Frustrated, I bought flowers from other vendor during my lunch break.

Today, however, I saw her in her usual location at the market. As I approached her she smilingly welcomed me, as always. Funnily enough she calls me 'Didi' though anyone can see that she is way older than I am. Maybe that's why I don't mind. :-)

Anyways, I asked her why she didn't come last week. She started saying something about her husband. Here we go again - this wasn't the first time she had told me about her lazy good-for-nothing husband. But soon I sensed that she was telling me something else. Seems her husband has been very ill and has lost a lot of weight too. I asked her how he is doing now. She said that the doctors took his photograph - I think what she meant was the x-ray. But they don't have much hope. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to say to make her feel good so I told her not to worry and everything will be fine soon. God! How hollow my own words sounded to me! She raised her hands towards the sky to indicate that all was is in His hands now. :-(

I am not sure whether I should pray for her lazy husband's recovery or not. What do you think?
