Another attack by Pakistan! Another senseless loss of lives. Another round of messages on Whatsapp. Another war of words on news channels. A sense of frustration. An impotent, helpless, white-hot rage. You forward the messages. You change your display photo. You spend a minute in silence for the soldiers who lost their lives. And then you ask - what can you do? What more can you do? Back comes the reply, as on countless occasions - nothing, for you are a common man.
The channels have been clamoring for revenge. An eye for an eye. However angry I feel, I cannot add my voice to this demand. A war can never be a solution to this. It never has done anyone any good. Neither for the nation who won it, nor for the one who lost it. It hasn't resolved matters either, at least so far in the history. Many times, it has fomented more conflicts, more chaos, more loss of lives.
But we need to respond. In a very very strong way. And in the only language that our next-door-begger understands. Sever all ties with them. Recall our ambassador. Send theirs back. Close down their embassy and consulate. Recall our diplomatic staff from Pakistan. If there are any Pakistanis in India, send them back. If there are any Indians in Pakistan, get them back home. Then stop all transport to Pakistan - air, water, roads. No imports, no exports. No cultural exchange. No cricket matches. Don't give any visa to any Pakistani. Not even for any emergencies. Not even for medical reasons. Not even for children. Stop responding to their statements. Stop giving them any news coverage - print or television. If any other country advises us on this, ignore it. This is our problem and we have to deal with it in our own way.If any Indian - especially a celebrity - speaks in their favor, publicly ask them to shut their trap. Pretend as if Pakistan does not exist. Keep up efforts to isolate them globally. Let them know that they don't count as far as India goes.
And make them pay the price by carrying out covert operations on their defense bases. Let them lose their own. Heavily.Maybe that is the only way they will see light, if any. It cannot be "business as usual" anymore.
BJP is very fond of referring to the Prime Minister as the Iron Man of India. It's high time he earned that title.
