डॉ। झरीन पटेल ह्या पुण्यातील प्राणीमित्र होत्या. नुकतेच त्यांचे मधुमेहाने निधन झाले. त्यांच्या जीवनकालात त्यांनी कितीतरी बेवारस, आजारी व घर नसलेल्या कुत्र्यांची काळजी घेतली. अखेरीस त्या आपल्यामागे जवळपास १४० कुत्रे ठेवून गेल्या. आता ह्या कुत्र्यांची जबाबदारी आपल्यावर आहे.

The weather department says that what hit Mumbai last week was pre-monsoon shower. I don't care. I am just happy that the good old monsoon is just around the corner. This one goes to all those who love the rains:

I am just 1 or 2 books shy of from reaching a personal milestone - of reading 200 books in 5 years! :-)

One of the recent novels that I read was Blindsight by Robin Cook. The plot was good, though a bit implausible. And in the last few pages, the novel sounded rather like a Hindi whodunit where all the characters are in a hurry to tie the last remaining loose ends in the plot before the patrons walk out the door. :-)

Just last week I finished reading Agatha Christie's "The Unexpected Guest". Reading the plot summary on the back page made me wonder if the Hindi movie "धुंद" was based on this one. Turns out that it must have been a loose adaptation, if any. The killer in the novel was different from the one shown in the movie. But as always, the novel was a fantastic read!

P.S. I have decided not to use the word "Bollywood" anymore. A few days back, I came across an article which mentioned that Amitabh Bachhan doesn't use the word because he thinks that it is a "plagiarized often used euphemism". Now, I cannot be counted as a fan of Mr. Bachhan. But I think there is merit in what he says. Hence the words "Hindi movie" instead of "Bollywood movie".

I guess David Headley has lost his Head. He is accusing India of dismembering Pakistan. Just a little search on the net would have told him that it was his beloved country Pakistan that first attacked India on 3rd December 1971. What were they thinking? That India will welcome them with open arms in their 'holy' pursuit of Jihad? I truly don't understand these people. How can a second of such a war killing innocents be equal to hundred years of praying?

Am I the only one or is there anyone else out there who finds it weird that the Taliban attack on Pakistani naval base happened just after the US president 's comments that Pakistan's true danger was homegrown?

I guess someone should investigate whether Pakistan has really lost all that it claims it has. India should not sit back and relax believing that her neighbor has lost half of its snooping and strike capabilities. They have proved themselves to be totally untrustworthy time and again!
