I must confess that I don't understand much about the game. But I am not going to let that stop me from celebrating every win of our team and mourning their every loss (though I hope these are few)! So 3 cheers for the team that has won its opening match!

Let this be the beginning of the good times to come :-)

Some more maddening Ads!

Okay, so here is the next part of my list:

1. Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk

I understand that Cadbury wants to emphasize the "Silk" part of this. But, really, the sight of the grown-ups licking their fingers and getting their faces smeared with chocolate is plainly GROSS!

2. 5 Star

First of all, I have taken an instant dislike to the bespectacled teacher. Then, she screams at the top of her lungs as if she has had a nasty attack of nerves. And finally, she punches the chocolate in the gut - knocking it off the bench. Hey, 5 Star has been my absolute favorite since I was knee-high. And the sight of this stupid teacher hitting it drives me stark raving mad!

3. Fanta

What is that stupid jingle? And what is the point of this ad? I reach for the remote every time it is aired.

4. McVities

Another pointless execution! Can someone please tell the old couple that it is okay to be different?

If they absolutely had to use this plot, it would have been infinitely better if they had depicted it like this instead. None of the other tourists have tasted the biscuits so they say "Wow". The old couple, however, says "Mow" (or whatever it is that they are supposed to say!) after eating them. The tourists gawk at them but the couple holds their ground and repeats the word.

I think this way it wouldn't have sounded as if McVities is out to make the entire world say "Mow" when they mean to say "Wow". We have had enough of the zombie movies, please.

5. Domino's

Wasn't there any other way to advertise for this than a streetful of people who have nothing better to do than to lunge for the droplets that fall from the pizza and cake that someone else is eating? Every time I see this ad, I want to throw up. :-(

I know, I know. It is rather late in the day for this. But I have been tied up real bad since yesterday at work. :-( In fact, if one of my friends hadn't SMSed me about it, I would have most likely found out only in the evening.
