Yep, you read it right. The recipe that was shown is of cauliflower, the vegetable. And if what they said on the program is anything to go by, it was the favorite dessert of none other than Rabindranath Tagore. It is still made at his house every year on his birthday. So here goes the recipe:
Boil cauliflower and turn it into a smooth paste.
Heat ghee and fry raisins. Set aside.
Add cauliflower paste to the ghee and fry. Add sugar to it followed by
cashew nuts. Then add Khoya, fried raisins and saffron mixed in milk.
Mix thoroughly.
Grease a plate with ghee and put the mixture on it. Spread it evenly, garnish with more dry fruits, if needed, and let it cool.
Cut into pieces and serve.
I don't know about you but I am sure going to give it a try one of these weekends. :-)
