You live in the city and think that the lot of the women has improved in India. You think that you have freedom of choice, you can shape your own life and take your own decisions. Then some article in a newspaper talks about the plight of women in the hinterlands and you think 'it could have easily been me'. Today I came across two such articles in the Mint:
