Sites for a rainy day

I really don't know if I will ever be able to go through these sites but their URLs have been sitting in the Notes of my mobile for days. I am bookmarking them here in case I find myself trapped with my laptop in a remote cave with internet connectivity because that's the only way I will ever be able to check them :-)

A friend forwarded this SMS today morning:

If your vision is sweet, you would like everyone in this world.
But if your heart is sweet, you will be liked by everyone in this world.

I find this thought rather funny because it is plumb impossible for anyone to be liked by everyone in this world. Even God hasn't been able to achieve this feat so far. And in today's stressful world, we should count ourselves lucky if a day passes by without anyone wanting to choke us :-)

Of course, that does not mean that we should not strive to make ourselves better. That, however, should never be done so as to please others or to be acceptable to them. You never know when other people's definition of what is nice or good might change.

On the other hand, if we try to be better because it feels good within (by this I don't mean Retail Therapy or chocolate binging!), we will always have a yardstick to measure our behavior with. We will never need someone else's stamp of approval. And such a change that has come from within, will be sustainable over the long run :-)
