Weekend's here again! I am hoping to meet one of my best friends tomorrow. We stay in the same city but at opposite ends and haven't met for more than one and a half years. :-( Both of us really hate to talk on phone unless a gun is put to our heads. And so we have been staying in touch only through SMS.

I am looking forward to catching up on a lot of gupshup and gossip tomorrow. Hope we meet!

It happens only in India!

It would have been hilarious if the matter were not connected to corruption in the judiciary system. Read this:

At least we Indians are consistent in being shoddy!

The Revenge of the Minnows

I didn't watch the last few overs of Ireland's Innings in their match against England. That's because I was afraid that if I start watching, Ireland will surely lose it. I am glad that they kept their nerves right till the end :-)

I hope the lousy pack that is Team India has woken up and smelt coffee. As an Indian, I want to see them win but if they don't put up their best show, they don't deserve to win.

I am not sure what good it would do to India's homeless but the enumerators should be commended for their dedication in making sure that they were counted in India's census. Some of us will say that they were doing just their job. Yeah, true, but isn't that also a rare commodity in India where most of the people are looking for ways not to do their job???

Google or "Goof"le?

Seems that GMail was out of service for some time, not that I noticed. I must not be falling into the 0.02% of people who Google claims were the only ones affected by the outage.

Anyways, I was amused by the usage of words "Unexpected Bug" in Google's statement. If you have done your testing thoroughly and without taking any shortcuts, then any bug would be unexpected, isn't it? Only hastily patched code would have bugs that are "expected" :-)

Zero garbage?

The Aruna Shanbaug case has hit the headlines again. The debate on Euthanasia is endless. But what surprises me is that no one is talking about the psycho who committed this crime. Hell, we don't even see his photo any time this case is mentioned. Or is this the violation of his "basic human rights"?

The right to die with dignity should be of the most fundamental rights of a human being. There should not be any two opinions about this. Any person would prefer death as compared to leading a fruitless life that is solely supported by others. Aruna has a right to die. But we must ensure that she gets justice before she departs from this world. As far as I know, the person who did this was not punished for his crime. There should be a nationwide hunt for this man. Arrest him, try him for his crimes and hang him.

Only then can we talk about letting Aruna go.
