It hardly feels like rainy season in Mumbai. It hasn't rained since past few days. How I long for the overcast skies, cool breezes and the patter of the raindrops on window panes :-( I just hope monsoon comes back to the city this weekend.
These days I am really beginning to wonder if the TOI guys are losing all sense of proportion. Look at the trash they put up at their website daily.

Today's Menu:

Hyderabad woman cheats NRI techie with marriage promise
Ranbir hugs Imran, watches film with Deepika
Aamir dismisses Shah Rukh's director
Bheja Fry director eyes Madhuri Dixit
Now, Vishal Bhardwaj wants Vidya Balan for Daayan!

All this while the infant death toll at a Kolkata hospital quietly rises to 21.

Spoiler Alert! - Castle Season 3 Finale

Can you believe it? Captain Roy Montgomery is no more! couldn't believe my eyes when they showed his funeral. I guess I am too used to the Indian daily soaps where characters are routinely resurrected even if they are gravely wounded (or sometimes are dead!) :-) No such luck for poor Montgomery though!

I see that the next season is due in September of this year. Wonder when the episodes will be aired in India :-)

I don't know about you but I sure as hell could not understand what the whole hullabaloo was about last week's news of Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy. If aliens had bothered to check out Indian TV channels and newspapers, they could have been pardoned for thinking that this is the 1st birth of the 21st century!

C'mon people, in this over-populated country of ours, where children are born almost every minute, why is there so much of fuss about one more pregnancy? When will the TV channels and newspapers understand what makes a news really worth "breaking"? :-(
Have you watched the new Google Chrome TV ad? The one about the dad called "Daniel Lee"? I just love it :-)

That can hardly be said about the ads from the companies selling shampoos. There is this one ad, I think by Garnier, in which the woman pulls a stalled vehicle by her strong hair. Another one has actress Malaika Arora Khan cracking open a walnut with her hair. Even if these ads don't find any takers for their products, they will surely find a place in Ripley's Believe it or Not!

Castle and Las Vegas

I can't believe that the season 3 of Castle is coming to an end today. I tuned into the series rather late. But once in, I got hooked to it - thanks to the interesting plots, witty dialogues and of course, Rick Castle's charms :-)

Another series on Star World that I watch when I can is "Las Vegas". This one is set against the backdrop of a Vegas casino. Of course, I don't find anyone as charming as Rick Castle here but the plots, dialogues and the 'dope' that you get about the casino business more than make up for it.
