Rawa (semolina)Onion Utthapa with chutney

I saw this recipe on a marathi TV program, tried it over a weekend and it turned out to be good. No one at home fell sick. :-) So here it is:

Mix 1 cup of semolina (Rawa), 3/4th cup of sour buttermilk (this has to be sour), 1/4th cup of milk, finely chopped green chillies, finely chopped coriander, finely chopped onion, grated ginger, a pinch of soda, bit of water and salt.

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds (jira), mustard seeds (rai) and curry leaves. Then put a dollop of the above mixture on it and spread evenly. Cook with the lid closed till crispy on both sides.

For the chutney:

Heat oil. Add asafotida (hing), cumin seeds (jira), mustard seeds (rai) and Urad daal to it. Then add chopped red chillies, finely chopped onion and finely chopped tomato. Add salt to taste and chili powder if needed. Finally add finely chopped coriander.

Serve with the Utthapa.
