CVC or PVC?

Confused by the title of this post? Well, you need not be. PVC is Poly Vinyl Chloride. One website lists one of its properties thus:

PVC is useful because it resists two things that hate each other: fire and water

With Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) P.J. Thomas digging in his heels and refusing to quit, I think he is displaying PVC like qualities by being resistant to both - the government and the general populace - who incidentally, hate each other, just like fire and water. :-)

I distinctly remember a slogan seen on one of the trucks long time ago:

सौमे अस्सी बेईमान, फिरभी मेरा भारत महान!

I guess these days, it is more like:

सौमे निन्यानब्बे बेईमान, फिरभी मेरा भारत महान!
